If your last name is - or was - Hoopes, Hoops, Hoope, or Howpe, we may have information about your ancestors dating back to Joshua Hoopes, who immigrated with his family from England to American in 1683.

The Hoopes Family Organization is made up entirely of volunteers who compile family history information and organize its few activities. Any fees charged are to cover costs. We are happy to share limited amounts of material from books and newsletters to family members seeking information about their heritage.

With origins from initial investigation begun in 1935, four researchers of Hoopes family history formed the Hoopes Family Organization, Inc. in 1970, obtaining tax exempt status in 1971. After much diligent work, the first volume of the Hoopes Family Record was published in 1979 and the second and third volumes in 1983, covering a total of nine generations. Updates are included in semi-annual newsletters.
